Copyright

Whenever someone creates a novel or a poem, copyright is the law that says it belongs to them.

Other people are not allowed to just copy chunks of their book or poem and publish it on the internet without paying them or getting permission. If they do, they can get sued.

This is true for all types of media such as photos, video and audio and it's why you have to pay to use many images on the internet.

One of the main purposes of copyright is to protect authors who create original works.
