Platform & Account Terms

These Platform & Account Terms apply to teachers and other educators who register for and hold an account on our programs site at techfutures.org.au (Site), operated by Tech Futures Australia Ltd (ABN 97 662 365 120) (we, our or us). They are additional to our Website Terms of Use, available at techfutures.org.au/terms, which continue to apply to your use of the Site. Our Privacy Policy, available at techfutures.org.au/privacy, explains how we handle personal information and does not form part of these terms. When you create an account, you agree to these Platform & Account Terms.

Who these terms apply to

These Platform & Account Terms apply if you hold a registered account on the Site. They add to, and should be read together with, our Website Terms of Use. Nothing in these terms limits any right or obligation under applicable privacy law. If there is any inconsistency between these Platform & Account Terms and the Website Terms of Use on a matter specific to your account, these Platform & Account Terms apply to that matter. The governing-law and limitation-of-liability provisions in the Website Terms of Use also apply to these Platform & Account Terms.

Eligibility

Accounts are available only to teachers and other educators. When you register, you confirm that you are a teacher or other education professional. Accounts are not for students: students use the Site’s learning materials as anonymous visitors and do not need an account. If we learn that an account has been created by a student, we will close it and delete or de-identify the associated information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your account

When you create an account, please give accurate and current details. There is no self-service settings page, so if your details change, contact us at support@tfa.org.au and we will update them. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account, and for taking reasonable steps to keep your login details secure. You stay signed in on a device until you sign out, even after you close the browser, so if you use a shared or school device, please sign out when you finish. Please do not share your account or let anyone else use it. Tell us promptly at support@tfa.org.au if you suspect your account has been used without your permission; after you do, you will not be responsible for later unauthorised activity that you did not cause or authorise. Your use of the Site through your account is also subject to the acceptable use rules in our Website Terms of Use.

Suspending or closing an account

You can close your account at any time by contacting us at support@tfa.org.au. Closing your account ends your access to account features. It does not by itself delete all the information associated with your account; we handle retention and deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account for a material, serious or repeated breach of these terms or our Website Terms of Use, or where reasonably necessary for legal or security reasons. Where it is practical to do so, we will give reasonable notice, except where the breach is serious or we must act immediately for legal or security reasons.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Platform & Account Terms. We will publish the updated version on our Site and revise the “Last updated” date above. Changes apply only from the date they take effect and do not change rights or liabilities that arose earlier.

If a change to these terms, or to the Website Terms of Use, materially affects your rights or obligations as an account holder, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email. We may make the change sooner where this is reasonably necessary for legal or security reasons. The notice will say when the change takes effect, and you can close your account before then.
