There is currently another group of authors, including George RR Martin (Game of Thrones) suing OpenAI alleging that books were downloaded from pirate ebook websites and copied into ChatGPT. This lawsuit is still ongoing.

AI-generated fake books are appearing on Amazon using real authors' names. These author names sometimes have deliberate misspellings like "Savana Gathrie" instead of Savannah Guthrie (or like the example image below), which trick readers into buying them. AI has made producing these copycat books so much easier and faster than ever before.
