Lesson 6: Behind the Scenes
AI data centres
As AI grows, new data centres are being built specifically for AI workloads. These AI data centres often use thousands of GPUs to train and run large AI models, including LLMs.
The GPUs which are designed to do many calculations at the same time use a lot more electricity and heat, just like when your computer heats up when you are playing an intense video game.
AI Data centres therefore need more advanced cooling systems to stop the equipment from overheating and to keep the systems running safely and reliably.
