Disinformation

Disinformation is false information that is shared on purpose to trick people. For example, someone creates an embarrassing fake photo of another student to deliberately fool people.

Type of DisinformationExample

Fake screenshotSomeone creates or edits a screenshot of a message, post or headline to fool others into thinking it is real
Fake ReviewCompanies post fake reviews to make their product sound better than it is
AI Bots spreading postsAI-powered accounts repost the same false message hundreds of times to make it seem popular. These can often be made with the aim of convincing people of certain political views.
