Lesson 3: Trust and AI
Deepfake videos
Deepfake videos are the next step up from deepfake images, and they are even more convincing and dangerous. Here's why:
- They move and talk. A deepfake video shows a real person speaking and moving, making it far more convincing than a fake image.
- Your brain trusts video more. We are wired to believe what we see moving and deepfakes exploit that instinct.
- Voice can be cloned too. Fake visuals combined with a cloned voice can make deepfake videos almost impossible to spot.
- They spread faster than the truth. A deepfake video can be shared millions of times before anyone fact-checks it.
