The near future: AI in space

AI is already being used in developing space technologies, and its use is likely to expand.

• SpaceX filed plans for up to one million satellites that could act as an orbital AI data centre.
• Blue Origin filed plans for Project Sunrise, a satellite data centre network with more than 51,000 satellites.
• Germany's LeLaR project has demonstrated a satellite using AI to reorient itself in orbit without human input.
